The City of Los Angeles has broken up the short term rental laws into two Ordinances:
The City of Los Angeles has broken up the short term rental laws into two Ordinances: 1) Home Sharing Ordinance (“Primary Address” - where you live 6 months out of the year) 2) Vacation Rental Ordinance ("Secondary/Vacation" Dwelling) For the purposes of this survey: Secondary Residence = An address you do not live in but is on the same parcel as your primary address Vacation Rental = An address on a separate parcel from your primary address

Under the Homesharing Ordinance (HSO), your rec room, pool house dwelling, converted garage, or granny flat are considered part of your primary residence.
